There are two set menus at £10 and £12.50 which offer what seems like incredibly good value, in fact it is beyond comprehension how anyone could go anywhere else, such is the quality, the terrific atmosphere and the lack of wallet-challenge. The pub prides itself on a warm welcome,great service and sensibly priced home cooked food.Sizzling platters are the biggest sellers in both pubs but there are also specials boards,kids meals,lighter bites starting at £4.95 as well as an extensive main menu.

The Golden Cross, which dates back some 400 years, has recently enjoyed a sympathetic refurbishment incorporating a smoking solution and latterly a fully refurbished main restaurant which gives it a more contemporary feel , whilst retaining its undoubted charm.
